You see this in the app
Nothing found. Switch the printer on.
Why it happens
Which connection works depends on the device. A Bluetooth printer that is still joined to another phone stops showing up. An ordinary iPhone browser cannot search for Bluetooth printers at all.
How to fix it
- 1
Only the owner can set up a printer. Open Settings, then Devices, then Receipt printer, and tap Connect.
- 2
Switch the printer off and on, then tap Search again. If it was connected to another phone, disconnect it there first.
- 3
Computer or Android: use Chrome or Edge. For a classic Bluetooth printer (POS-58), pair it in the computer's Bluetooth settings first, then tap Bluetooth printer (POS-58).
- 4
A USB printer needs Chrome or Edge, or the POSmates desktop app. A Wi-Fi printer goes under Other connections: type its IP address, for example 192.168.1.50.
- 5
If it says Bluetooth is off on this phone or POSmates is not allowed to use Bluetooth, tap Turn on Bluetooth or Allow Bluetooth in Settings.
- 6
iPhone browser: it cannot connect to Bluetooth printers. Use Print receipt (the phone's print view), or the POSmates app.
