Why it happens
Ingredients only go down for a product that has a saved recipe. A product with no recipe deducts nothing and shows no warning. If a size has its own recipe, only that recipe is used for that size.
How to fix it

Open the product and check it has a recipe saved. Saving a recipe sets the product to use it.

If a size has its own recipe, check that one. It replaces the product's recipe for that size.

A product sold as is (finished) takes away its own stock, not ingredients. A product set to both does both.
